French toast

One more classic breakfast food that you can make as a great carnivore meal or snack!

Start with my recipe for keto-carnivore egg loaf. Cut the loaf into slices.

In a small bowl close to the same size as your egg loaf slices , add an egg and about an even amount of heavy whipping cream. The proportion is not important enough to measure out. If you allow some vanilla, add a dash to your bowl as well. Whip up with a fork and lay in as many slices as will fit. Flip over to make sure the egg loaf is completely covered.

I experimented with soaking my egg loaf slices different amounts of time. For traditional french toast made with bread, soaking longer is better. In fact, french toast was originally created as a method for utilizing old, stale bread. However, I found with carnivore french toast that soaking longer does not make a difference. If you want to leave your slices soaking overnight, you may, but if you soak them only right before cooking, they shouldn't turn out any different.

Melt some butter in a non-stick pan on medium heat. I recommend copper or ceramic non-stick pans since most others include Teflon, a highly toxic chemical that can leach into food. Even pans that advertise "No Teflon" can still include the same chemicals, since Teflon is actually just a trademarked name.

Once the slices are sufficiently covered in the egg and cream mixture, cook and flip until each side is nicely browned.

Eat with butter or some unsweetened whipping cream on top, or plain. I even like these cold as a snack!
